US biotech company Moderna on Monday said their COVID-19 vaccine is 94.5% effective, as per an AFP report.
Stephane Bancel the Modern Inc CEO stated that the effective results of the COVID-19 vaccine were devised from a clinical trial conducted on more than 30,000 participants.
“This positive interim analysis from our Phase 3 study has given us the first clinical validation that our vaccine can prevent COVID-19 disease, including severe disease,” said Stephane Bancel, Moderna’s CEO.
Earlier on Monday, World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom had said that a vaccine alone would not ensure the obliteration of the novel coronavirus, emphasizing that it would act only as a complementary agent.
