According to local authorities, multiple individuals were injured in a shooting in Nashville, Tennessee. Tennessee’s first responders are on the scene of a shooting at a primary school in Nashville.
Although police claim they engaged the shooter and killed him, authorities have not yet confirmed how many people have been hurt or killed in the event. According to its website, Covenant School is a private Christian school that serves children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
The Covenant School is located on 33 Burton Hills Blvd, Nashville.
The Metro Nashville PD released a statement confirming the death of the shooter and noting that the school was already attempting to reunite parents and students. Agents from the Nashville division of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms) have also been sent to help the MNPD react to the attack.
“An active shooter event has taken place at Covenant School, Covenant Presbyterian Church, on Burton Hills Dr. The shooter was engaged by MNPD and is dead. Student reunification with parents is at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2100 Woodmont Blvd.,” the statement read.
Agents from the Nashville division of the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms) have also been sent to help the MNPD react to the attack.
US Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee released a statement saying, “Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville.
