Who is Jim Donovan? 

In a poignant announcement following the Browns’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Donovan revealed that he’s stepping away from the broadcast booth temporarily to continue his leukemia treatment. His battle with this disease began 23 years ago, and in 2011, he underwent a life-changing bone marrow transplant.

Donovan expressed his deep appreciation for the support he’s received from his WKYC team, the Cleveland Browns, and his family, including his wife Cheryl and daughter Meghan. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by his dedicated team of doctors and caregivers at University Hospital’s Seidman Cancer Center.

For Browns fans, Jim Donovan has been the voice of the team since their return to the NFL in 1999. He followed in the footsteps of local broadcasting legends like Gib Shanley, Nev Chandler, and Casey Coleman.
