In a massive blow to the Manchester City side, skipper Kevin De Bruyne hobbled off an hour into Saturday’s Champions League final at Porto against Chelsea after a heavy collision with centre-back Antonio Rudiger.
The Belgium international received lengthy treatment after running into the shoulder of the Chelsea defender, with Gabriel Jesus brought on for a tearful and dazed De Bruyne.

Rudiger was booked for the clash.
Eventually, Chelsea won the grand finale, thanks to the only goal from Kai Havertz in the first half. The German international got on the end of a delicious through ball from Mason Mount and got past the approaching keeper to tuck it home.

The goal, which was the 21-year-old’s first in 20 Champions League appearances, ended up being the match-winner as Chelsea preserved their lead for the remainder of the match to secure a second their second Champions League title.
However, even during his time on the pitch, De Bruyne failed to make much of an impact as the City midfield was completely outplayed by N’golo Kante.
