Jalen Hurts threw a 53-yard touchdown to wide receiver Quez Watkins. The TD happened in the first play of the second quarter against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 of the Monday Night Football in the 2022 NFL Season.

Born in Houston, Texas in August 1998, Hurts passed for 2,384 yards with 26 touchdown passes and rushed for 1,391 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.

During his high school career, Hurts earned a second-team all-district pick as a sophomore and was awarded the District 21-6A Overall MVP as a junior. Throughout his high school career, he faced Texas A&M freshman star running back Trayveon Williams. Hurts was a four-star recruit who was regarded as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2016 class.

Hurts competed as a true freshman at Alabama in 2016, opening the season as the starting quarterback. Blake Barnett started the first game against the USC Trojans, but Hurts took over as the starter by the second game, becoming Alabama’s first true freshman quarterback in 32 years.

During his freshman season, Hurts threw for 2,780 yards and 23 touchdowns with nine interceptions.

On December 3, 2016, he led his team to win the 2016 SEC Championship over the Florida Gators and was subsequently named SEC Offensive Player of the Year, SEC Freshman of the Year, and received Freshman All-American from several publications.

Jalen Hurts revealed on social media on January 16, 2019, that he will be transferred to the University of Oklahoma for his last year of eligibility. He was eligible to play in the 2019 season as a graduate transfer.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Hurts in the second round, with the 53rd overall pick, of the 2020 NFL Draft.
