Mumbai police will be providing protection to actress Rhea Chakraborty whenever she commutes from her residence to the DRDO guest house on the request of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), reported news agency ANI, quoting Mumbai Police officials.

The decision comes after Rhea sought police protection through an Instagram post. In the post she shared a video which appeared to be shot from the window of her home. The video shows the actor’s father, Indrajeet Chakraborty being flocked by media personnel as he enters the house.

In the caption, the 28-year-old said, “This is inside my building compound, The man in this video is my father Indrajit Chakraborty ( retd . army officer ). We have been trying to get out of our house to cooperate with ED (Enforcement Directorate), CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and various investigation authorities to cooperate.”

She added, “I request @mumbaipolice to please provide protection so that we can cooperate with these investigation agencies.”

Rhea is being investigated by the CBI in connection with the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide on June 14. The bureau joined in the investigation after receiving orders from the Supreme Court.

Rhea was quizzed by the CBI on Friday and has been summoned again on Saturday.
