Actor Nargis Fakhri has said she regrets paying heed to advice on keeping her relationship with actor-producer Uday Chopra under the wraps. Nargis said she found Uday to be a “beautiful soul” and feels she should have made public their 5-year relationship by “shouting from the mountain tops.” In an apparent reference to the people who purportedly advised her against going public about Chopra, she told the Times of India, ” The internet and social media is very fake and the people out there won’t know what the truth is. Most often we idolise certain people who are actually bad behind closed doors.”
Chopra and Fakhri denied being together even as rumours about their relationship began floating as early as 2014. In an interview with Mid Day, Fakhri said Chopra was one of the “few friends” she had in India.
Amid reports of their breakup, Nargis left for her birthplace New York, US, in 2016. She told a media outlet that she had left India to get treated for “arsenic and lead poisoning which needed immediate treatment.” Fakhri also told DNA that she did not believe in the concept of marriage.
Speaking about her recent breakup with American chef Justin Santos, Fakhri said the two remain good friends.
Fakhri made a promising Bollywood debut with 2011 movie Rockstar, alongside Ranbir Kapoor. She gained further recognition with her work in Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, Azhar and Housefull 3. Chopra made his debut in brother Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein before starring in the Dhoom franchise with Abhishek Bachchan. In July 2012, Chopra founded his own company, Yomics, which creates comics about famous Yash Raj Films including Hum Tum, Dhoom and Ek Tha Tiger.
