US tech giant Apple officially unveiled on Tuesday four new iPhones, the most ever at a single event, and among them were the two premium models — the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. 

As with many flagship phones, a big focal point is the camera setup on both the phones.

The iPhone 12 Pro features a 6.1-inch display and starts at a price of $1,000. The phone comes in four colors: silver, graphite, gold, as well as a brand new color option, a blue model. The storage of the base model is 128GB, but there are options for 256GB and 512GB variants as well.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a massive 6.7-inch screen, and its base model is priced at $1,100. It arrives with the same choice of colors and storage variants.

All about the camera

The camera-centric smartphones come with a Quad Camera setup. The four cameras that we get on the iPhone 12 Pro are — 12MP main camera, faster, f1/.6 aperture, Apple’s first 7-element lens; 12MP ultra-wide camera; 12MP 2X telephoto zoom on 12 Pro, 2.5X zoom 12 Pro Max; LiDAR sensor.

The Pro series includes the telephoto zoom lenses.

Now, the primary camera has a completely new system for Optical Image Stabilisation, called sensor-shift, which stabilises the sensor instead of the heavier lens. This cancels both low and high disturbances, like hand movement or the movement in a car.

The major breakthrough for the front camera is Smart HDR 3, which adds more details to faces when the light source is bright behind the person and captures better HDR shots.

Latest A14 Bionic Chipset

The premium smartphones are powered by the latest a14 bionic chip, which Apple claims to be the fastest processor in a smartphone of all times.

The processor comes equipped with a 6-core CPU, which is faster than any smartphone chip. The chip also has a 4-core GPU, which will provide a better gaming experience and will be a good choice for machine learning.

Apple said that the GPU is the fastest of any smartphone, which can deliver faster graphics. 

5G Connectivity

Both the iPhone 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max supports the new 5G connectivity standard, and will also function with the high-speed 5G network utilized by Verizon and AT&T.
