Bangatan Sonyeeondan famously known as BTS secured their second consecutive Grammy nod for Best Pop Duo and Group Performance for ‘Butter.’ The ceremony is set to take place on January 31st at Staples Centre, Los Angeles.
The band has successfully established a huge fan base also known as their “Army”, in the K-pop culture. After a huge win as the artist of the year at the American Music Awards, all eyes are now on their next milestone, the Grammy awards. The band of seven had also secured four awards at the Billboard Music Awards in May for their “Dynamite”, their top-selling song.

The nominees for the Grammy will be determined by votes by the eligible members of the Recording Academy, which comprises music experts famous in the industry such as singers, sound engineers, critics, and producers.
The BTS made history last year, for being the first K-pop band to be nominated for the most prestigious music award at the Grammy, namely for best duo or group performance. Although, they could not win last year, the chances for them to secure the award this year are on the higher side given their growing fan base and quality of music.

Its famous song, “Butter” which was released in May, stayed at the top of Billboard Hot 100 for 10-consecutive weeks. The band stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot for 100, for 10 consecutive weeks, being one of the only 40 songs that have been able to manage the feat in Billboard’s history.
The U.S entertained news, Variety writer Mike Wass claimed that “While that still feels like something of a long shot, BTS might have more luck in the record of the year and song of the year categories. ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission to Dance’ have the pedigree, polish and popularity to be competitive.”
Although Grammy awards Grammy’s results are quite unpredictable owing to Recording Academy’s alleged traditional lack of racial diversity, however, the band is likely to give a strong competition to Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lil Nas X, as also predicted by Forbes and Billboard.
