The picture is of an oriental garden lizard. It is an agamid, of the agama family, found mainly in the indo-Malaya. The Indomalayan realm extends across most of South and Southeast Asia and into the southern parts of East Asia.

It is not only the garden lizard, but reptiles generally are not found in the Antarctic region.

This is because cold-blooded reptiles and snakes rely on heat from their surroundings to survive. They’d never last in Antarctica since there’s none of it. What reptiles existed in the past were present when the continent was not where it is now, but in warmer climates.
