The Pakistan police have arrested a second suspect linked to the Karachi University bomb blast, ANI reported. Bebgar Imdad, a student, has been apprehended and moved to an undisclosed location, The Express Tribune reported.
Imdad’s arrest comes after that of Habitan Bashir Baloch, husband of suicide bomber Shari Baloch. The blasts killed four including three Chinese nationals.
As per the outlet, Imdad is “an alleged facilitator” and has been traced through mobile phone links. The report continues that Imdad is a student of the National University of Modern Languages from Islamabad, and resisted his arrest.

At the time of his arrest, some foreign literature was also found and obtained from Imdad. They are apparently linked to a social media site, and the alleged facilitator is being questioned by the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime, regarding his involvement in the attack.
The Karachi university blast took place when a van seemed to turn into the gates of a Chinese language teaching centre at the Karachi University, the Confucius Institute.

The global community slammed the attack with the United Nations calling it a “cowardly” act. While India originally spoke ill of the attack too but made a pointed reference that all nations should adopt an “undifferentiated position against terrorism”.
Due to the death of Chinese nationals, Pakistan is also facing pressure from Beijing. Global Times, the state-run daily said “We strongly demand the Pakistani side make more efforts to protect the safety of Chinese institutions, projects and personnel in Pakistan, and make those organisations understand that those who try to hurt the Chinese will only bring destruction on themselves.”
China has also made ‘strong demands’ to Pakistan to get to the root of the blasts.
