As Eid-ul-Adha celebrations began in India on Wednesday amid tight COVID-19 restrictions in view of surging virus cases. However, markets across the country witnessed huge crowds for clothes, food items, and of course goats.
While traders on one hand, especially in Gujarat about the goat sales going down by 20% this year in view of coronavirus restrictions, some vendors have got a decent amount for their goats.

Among them was a man from Lucknow who spent a whopping Rs 4.5 lakh for a pair of goats. The expensive pair of goats was sold at the market near Gomti river in Lucknow on Tuesday. Out of the two coats, one weighs 170 kg while the other weighs 150 kg.

In another high bid, a goat was sold at Rs 90,000 in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. The goat named Sultan weighs 115 kgs. Sultan’s height is 40 inches and he is 70 inches long.
Another goat was sold for Rs 72,000 in Ayodhya as the highest bid of the city. Vendors from Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha came to sell their goats in Uttar Pradesh as the market saw huge demand for goats.

Well, that’s not it, the price of goats in Maharashtra%u2019s Buldhana district was priced at Rs 1 core ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. Buyers were ready to pay as high as Rs 51 lakhs for a healthy goat named ‘Tiger’. The reason behind the high price was that ‘Allah’ was written on the goat%u2019s body since its birth.
Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday. Islam believers perform Qurbani (slaughtering of goats, buffaloes, or sheep) on the occasion of Bakri Eid.
