Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal recently shared that his choice to work in women-centric films is an ode to his mother, who spent her life raising him as a single parent.
Rampal, who is set to feature in ‘Dhaakad’ alongside Kangana Ranaut and Divya Dutta, was recently in Jaipur to promote a track from the film.
“My mom raised me as a single parent. Whenever I get an offer for a woman-centric film, I take it up immediately. This is my way of paying homage to my mother. I know how strong she was,” the 49-year-old said at the event, according to a report by Navbharat Times.

Gwen Rampal, the actor’s mother, succumbed to cancer in 2018.
The event, held in the Pink City’s cinema hall Raj Mandir, unveiled ‘She’s on Fire’, a sultry track featuring Ranaut as a femme fatale. The track is composed, written and sung by Badshah. Nikita Gandhi has also sung the track.
“I had a blast shooting for the song as I love the way Badshah composes them. They are full of life and the tempo gets you grooving. She’s On Fire showcases Agent Agni’s power, how she is on this mission and how nothing can stop her from achieving her goal,” Ranaut said at the event.

Badshah also talked about the key concept behind the catchy number.
“The brief for the song was to compose a tune which would be catchy but would also capture the essence of the film and reflect the spirit of its main characters. The title of the song is based on Agent Agni and the way she powers through her mission in the film. Rampal plays the menacing antagonist and the song pits the two of them against each other,” he said.
Razneesh Ghai’s ‘Dhaakad’, an action-thriller, is slated to release on May 20.
