The Technology Recyclers’ headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, managed to beat the world record for most laptops toppled in a domino fashion on May 13. The recycling company arranged 2,910 laptops in a similar manner to the tile-based game, beating the previous Guinness World Record for the same title, which was set by Jens Demol and recycling centre Out of Use NV in Beringen, Belgium. The first record was set on 7 November 2021 and used 752 laptops for the challenge.

Needleman reported that the employees “had a wonderful time planning and executing the event”. However, the team faced several hurdles as the original plan included an increased number of laptops but was foiled due to a few complications.
It was alleged that parts of the laptop domino row began to fall out of place even before the event had started. Needleman stated, “We learned while setting them up not all laptops stand up the same, and we had a few unplanned starts.”

He continued to state that several people present at the event had never witnessed a world record, and were fascinated by it. Unfortunately, the constraints of time and space were said to “limit their fun”.
