Vyasar Ganesan is an Indian American who was the cast of the Netflix show Indian Matchmaking. He is an Austin-based teacher, college counselor and also a pop-culture enthusiast. He entered from the 7th episode of the show with the hope to find a right match with the help of Mumbai-based matrimonial expert Sima Taparia.

Vyasar was raised by his mother because his parents got separated when he was a child. He also shared about a dark past of his father who was in ten years of imprisonment because of a death threat that he gave to his third wife. He revealed that his father was very argumentative and none of his marriages lasted because of this reason.

He had given a wishlist in the show to Sima Taparia where he talked about his interests. He wanted a match with someone who would enjoy his quirks and game nights. Vyasar wants his better half to be a good communicator, adventurous and also a foodie.

During the show, Sima suggested two proposals to Vyasar. Vyasar was initially paired with Manisha Dasha, who was 7 years older than him. The proposal did not work because of compatibility issues. He was then introduced to Rashi Gupta, a veterinarian from California who worked at the VCA animal hospital. After a few months of dating and with the wrap of the show, the pair decided to be just friends. Vyasar in an interview with the Los Angeles Times said, “It’s no one’s fault. Matchmaking really is tough. Both people I was matched with were truly wonderful, inspiring individuals who I’m proud to call friends.”
