Grewal faced up against Amarveer Dhesi, a Canadian wrestler of Indian heritage, in the event’s semi-finals. Grewal got the semi-final event off to a good start, scoring the first points. But his fortunes turned when Dhesi came into his own and scored many points to take the lead before Grewal squirmed in pain due to an ankle twist.

Grewal competes in the 125kg weight class and also earned bronze in the Bolat Turlykhanov Cup in 2022. He has always been interested in athletics and has tried swimming and judo before focusing solely on wrestling. He took bronze in the 2018 Junior Asian Championship.
