Now that the fantasy football draft has been completed and managers have drafted their teams, we should focus on how these players are going to perform in their respective matches. Fantasy Football Managers know that their real work starts once the draft is completed as the league is generally won through pickups from the waiver wire and not the draft.
Let’s have a look at the top 5 waiver wire options for the Tight end spot in fantasy football: –

1) Austin Hooper (Tennessee Titans)
Playing at the TE position for the Tennessee Titans with QB Ryan Tannehill, Austin Hooper is a solid Week 1 pick. The Titans lack star power in their squad with Derrick Henry being the only notable RB on the team. His numbers have seen a dip in the past seasons when he played for the Cleveland Browns. The 27-year-old player would look to have a decent start to the new campaign.
2) Robert Tonyan (Green Bay Packers)
This Green Bay Packers TE will be likely to get a lot of passes as the team’s head coach Matt Lafluer has decided to go without a notable WR in the team. Star receiver Davante Adams left the team this past off-season and QB Aaron Rodgers doesn’t look to have complete trust in his current wide receivers squad which means that the team’s tight ends will get involved more. For Tonyan, he must demonstrate his readiness after recovering from an ACL tear last year, but the player also does not require a large target share to be valuable.

3) Noah Fant (Seattle Seahawks)
This tight end will go up against his former team, Denver Broncos in Week 1. The Seahawks are evidently a very weak squad in front of the Broncos and if the team falls behind by multiple digit points, then the team would resolve to more passing than running the football. As Geno Smith has been named the starting QB for the Seahawks, the likelihood for Fant, who is a very talented pass-catcher, to get quality passes might be less. Fant has also dealt with multiple injuries over his short NFL career.

4) Gerald Everett (Los Angeles Chargers)
The player has had a mediocre NFL career since being drafted by the Rams five seasons ago. But now that the player is with their city rivals, the Chargers, it is a good opportunity for this young player to increase his productivity and the Chargers offense might just suit him. He had a career year with the Seahawks last year when he scored his personal best 4 Tds while also receiving the football for 478 yards.
5) Hayden Hurst (Cincinnati Bengals)
This TE will look to improve his numbers this season as he was acquired by the Bengals this off-season. The Bengals have overhauled much of their offensive line this season, as it was one major reason that they lost the Super Bowl to the Rams, last season. With the wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase being a quick-running player, QB Joe Burrow will look to target this player also as he also possesses similar traits to Chase.
