This week, an incredible video of a moose simultaneously losing both antlers went viral. In Houston, Alaska, a Ring floodlight camera captured this unusual occurrence.

The moment the moose shed its antlers was captured on camera, and Tyra and Chance Bogert were astounded to see it.

The evening of December 15, as a snowstorm moved toward Alaska, Tyra Bogert made her way to her sister’s home in case the electricity went off. She saw a notification from her Ring camera as she and her niece were scrolling through TikTok.

The camera, which was placed at her front door, had detected some movement. Bogert was curious and clicked on the alert to view a “one-in-a-million” occurrence live.

The antlers of a passing moose snapped off with a loud “pop,” almost like an irate dog, after the moose shook its body.  The animal fled rapidly after being plainly startled by what had transpired.

Bogert could not believe what she had seen take place in real time.

Moose normally lose their antlers once a year, and it can take them days or even weeks to do it. It is quite unusual for both antlers to fall at the same time.

By Friday morning, the video Tyra Bogert uploaded on Facebook and TikTok had received a total of 335,400 views.

The video was also shared by Boger’s brother-in-law on his TikTok account, where it received 2.6 million likes and 18.6 million views.

Chance, her husband, immediately called to find out who was at the door. “I’m like, ‘Dude, you’ve got to watch it for yourself! You’ll be so surprised. I don’t want to ruin it,” Bogert told TODAY.com.

She later shared a video of her husband obtaining the antlers, which were around 50 inches across, and flaunting them in front of the camera.

Bogert said she came from a hunting-loving family and that her husband’s brother will assist them in mounting the 50-inch rack from the video.

She is delighted that so many people have watched her video and enjoys how frequently she sees moose near her home. Many people, according to Bogert, have informed her that they were unaware that moose lost their antlers.

“They’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, I didn’t even know moose did this in the first place and what do you mean? They can just shake their head and the antlers fall off? They don’t have to be like fighting or scratching a tree?'” Bogart said. “It’s pretty crazy how many people are just uneducated on moose,” she added.
