Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russel Gage suffered a neck injury during the Wildcard game with Dallas Cowboys. Gage, as he tried to pass the ball to NFL star Tom Brady near the end zone in the fourth quarter, he was tackled by Cowboy safety Donovan Wilson. He tried to get up but failed.

Gage was taken off the field on a stretcher later in the fourth quarter, and the game was stopped for some time before resuming. 

It was later confirmed that Gage had a concussion with a potential threat of neck injuries. Tampa Bay’s head coach Todd Brown spoke regarding Gage’s health. “They took him to the hospital, Right now, he has a concussion. They’re also testing him for potential neck injuries. His fingers were moving when he was down. I don’t know about the rest,” he said. 

Before the injury, Gage had two receptions for 10 yards against the Cowboys, finishing the season with 51 catches for 426 yards and scoring five touchdowns in 13 games. 

NFL fans witnessed another on-field injury just a few weeks ago after  Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills suffered a Cardiac arrest on the field during the match against Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamlin is still recovering after being in a critical condition for the initial week. The Bills and the Bengals will face each other in the AFC Divisional round, with many anticipating the emotional game. 

For Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it over for the team after their disastrous 31-14  loss against Cowboy Dallas. The cowboys will now face San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
