Actor Kaley Cuoco offers to buy horse punched by coach at Tokyo Olympics
- "I feel it's my duty and heart to comment on this disgrace," Kaley wrote
- Schleu's horse went rogue during the event
- The coach was seen beating the animal
Former 'Big Bang Theory' actor Kaley Cuoco, on Friday, expressed her wish to buy the horse that was punched by a German modern pentathlon coach at the Tokyo Olympics. On August 6, Kim Raisner was thrown out of the event after she lashed out at rider Annika Schleu's horse, Saint Boy, during the show-jumping round of the women's event.
The coach could also be heard urging a tearful Schleu to "really hit" the horse, which had been refusing to jump or trot.
Kaley, who played Bridget Hennessy on the ABC sitcom '8 Simple Rules', wrote on Instagram, "I feel it's my duty and heart to comment on this disgrace. This is not Olympic showjumping. This is a disgusting, classless, abusive representation of our sport in so many ways. This team should be ashamed of themselves."
She went on to addredd Schleu and coach Kim Raisner.
"You and your team did not do your country proud or this sport. You make us look bad. Shame on you and godspeed to any animal that comes in contact with you," Cuoco wrote.
"Pure classless behavior right here. Disgusting on all levels. This is not our sport. This does not represent our sport. This rider and her 'trainer' are a disgrace." she added.
Later, Kaley also clarified that she wasn't kidding.
Schleu's horse went rogue during the event as she was unable to convince him to get around the course and over any jumps. She had come fourth at the Rio Olympics and was eyeing gold in Tokyo. However, she couldn't register any points and came last. Schleu was also criticised for how hard she was whipping.
A flight attendant turned actor, Kaley Cuoco is married to horse trainer Karl Cook.
Animal-rights charities are calling for changes to the modern pentathlon after the incident.
