Glenmark, LIC, Paytm, and other stocks that moved most on November 14

  • Glenmark Pharmaceuticals shares gained 4% reporting Rs 260.4 crore profit
  • LIC shares grew 6% after 27% YoY growth in net premium during September quarter
  • Hindalco Industries shares gained 6% after reporting 6% rise in revenue

Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Monday with the Sensex losing 170.89 points or 0.28% to 61,624.15 points. The Nifty fell 20.55 points or 0.11% to 18,329.15.

The broader indices ended mixed with the BSE MidCap index gaining 0.05% and the SmallCap index up by 0.25%. The top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were FMCG down by 1.29%, Power 0.69%, Capital Goods 0.66%, Utilities 0.49%, and Consumer Durables 0.40%. While Metal up 1.48%, Realty 1.05%, Commodities 1.00%, IT 0.77%, and Healthcare 0.56% were the top gaining sectoral indices on BSE.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd: The stock ended nearly 4% higher at Rs 430.65 on the BSE after the company reported a 1.1% year-on-year rise in profit at Rs 260.4 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Revenue grew 7.2% YoY to Rs 3,375.2 crore during the quarter. EBITDA rose 5.3% to Rs 621.6 crore and the margin declined by 40 bps to 18.4% against the year-ago quarter.

Life Insurance Corporation of India Ltd: The stock ended nearly 6% higher at Rs 664.80 on the BSE after the company reported a 27% year-on-year growth in net premium at Rs 1.32 lakh crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Net profit stood at Rs 15,952 crore, which grew by 11 times against Rs 1,434 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, partly driven by other income. Other incomes stood at Rs 6,795 crore for the quarter including a refund of income tax.

Hindalco Industries Ltd: The stock ended 6% higher at Rs 455.55 on the BSE after the company reported an 18% year-on-year rise in revenue from operations at Rs 56,176 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against Rs 47,665 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

One97 Communications Ltd (Paytm): The stock ended 1% higher at Rs 638.60 on the BSE after the company said that the value of loans disbursed grew 387% to Rs 3,056 crore year-on-year. Concurrently, the number of loans disbursed grew 161% to 34 lakh loans in October.

Thermax Ltd: The stock ended 3.75% lower at Rs 2,278.40 on the BSE after the company reported a 24.1% year-on-year growth in profit at Rs 109.2 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Revenue grew by 41.3% to Rs 2,075.3 crore. EBITDA rose 28.4% to Rs 140.8 crore during the quarter against the corresponding last year.

Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd: The stock ended nearly 6% higher at Rs 82.75 on the BSE after the company reported a 10-fold YoY increase in profit at Rs 56.5 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Revenue from operations declined 44.4% YoY to Rs 194 crore for the quarter. EBITDA stood at Rs 91 crore, up by 306% YoY. The margin jumped 40%.

Bharat Forge Ltd: The stock ended nearly 4% lower at Rs 852 on the BSE after the company’s margin fell by 590 bps to 24.3% against that in last year last fiscal. Its long-term debt also rose to 8.5% to Rs 2510 crore during the quarter against March 2022’s Rs 2315 crore.
