PL: Chelsea test for City, North London Derby in matchday 6 spotlight
- Chelsea welcome Manchester City at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday
- Tottenham travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in the season's 1st North London derby
- 4 teams are still winless so far in the Premier League
The Premier League returns for another
action-packed weekend, which begins with Manchester City travelling to Stamford
Bridge for a tough test against Thomas Tuchel’s title contenders Chelsea on Saturday,
before the spotlight shifts to the north of the capital, where Arsenal welcome Tottenham
Hotspur at the Emirates on Sunday.
Here’s a look at the big talking
points ahead of kick-off on matchday 6:
Chelsea
vs City
In their first meeting since the Champions League final, Manchester City will look to exact revenge for that defeat in May. But it will be no mean feat, with Thomas Tuchel’s side among the most in-form and well-rounded in Europe, spearheaded by Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
Pep Guardiola is rarely outsmarted in football, but his German counterpart has been more than a match so far, beating the Spaniard in all three encounters last season. Can Guardiola get one back on Tuchel?
Arsenal
eyeing North London Derby win
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs had very different starts to the Premier League season. Arsenal lost three in a row, didn’t score in any of those matches and were rock-bottom of the league. Meanwhile, Tottenham won three in a row, didn’t concede in any of them and were top of the league.

However, things have changed in the last few weeks, with the Gunners winning 1-0 in both their games since, while Spurs have lost 3-0 twice in that period.
Arsenal will now look to capitalise on their momentum and grab all three points against their fierce rivals. Will the Gunners prevail, or will Spurs spoil the party at the Emirates?
Can Cristiano
keep scoring streak intact?
Cristiano Ronaldo has had an electric start to life back in Manchester, scoring in every appearance so far with his goals keeping United at the top of the Premier League table so far.
The Portuguese forward has three goals from two appearances so far, and will look to keep that streak going as his side host Aston Villa on Saturday.
4
teams still winless
It hasn’t been a great start to the season for Leeds United, Newcastle United, Burnley and Norwich City, who are yet to record their first wins of the season. Leeds have drawn three of their games, Newcastle have two stalemates, Burnley have managed to get just the one point so far, with Norwich bottom of the league after losing all five games. Can any of them get out of the rut and get their first win of the season?
Salah
closes in on Drogba’s Premier League record
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is the leading African scorer in the Premier League, with 104 goals from 254 appearances. However, Liverpool‘s Mohammed Salah is just three goals shy of that mark, with the Egyptian has reaching 101 goals in just 163 appearances. And he isn’t even a striker!
While its just a matter of time before Salah becomes the all-time leading African scorer in the league, its not beyond him to reach the milestone with a hattrick against Brentford on Saturday. Unlikely, but possible.
