Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Thursday with the Sensex losing 419.85 points or 0.69% to 60,613.70 points. The Nifty fell 128.80 or 0.71% to settle at 18,028.20.

The broader indices ended lower with the BSE MidCap index losing 1.02% and the SmallCap index down by 1.05%. The top losing sectoral indices on the BSE were Auto down by 2.06%, Consumer Durables 1.36%, Commodities 1.35%, Consumer Discretionary 1.35%, and Metal 0.94%, while there were no gaining sectoral indices on BSE.

Tata Motors Ltd: The stock ended 4.80% lower at Rs 412.20 on the BSE after the company posted a net loss of Rs 944.6 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against a loss of Rs 4,441 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 79,611 crore during the quarter, 30% year-on-year (YoY) growth, and EBITDA rose 35.4% to Rs 5,572 crore year-on-year. Jaguar Land Rover’s revenue stood at £5.3 billion, 36% growth year-on-year (YoY).

Piramal Enterprises Ltd: The stock ended 8.65% lower at Rs 811.95 on the BSE after the company posted a consolidated loss of Rs 1,536.4 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against a consolidated profit of Rs 426.5 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue was up 20.3% to Rs 1,893.7 crore against the year-ago period.

Lupin Ltd: The stock ended 3.69% higher at Rs 719.65 on the BSE after the company reported a net profit of Rs 130 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23, against a loss of Rs 2,098 in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

FSN E-commerce Ventures Ltd (Nykaa): The stock ended 4.59% higher at Rs 187.95 on the BSE after Citigroup announced a deal to sell shares in fashion retailer Nykaa, worth Rs 250 crore, through a block deal. The block deal involves “individual employee seller”. It offers a discount of up to 2% on the current market price.

Natco Pharma Ltd: The stock ended 4% lower at Rs 588.70 on the BSE after the drug maker announced the launch of its Pomalyst capsules in Australia. The drug is prescribed for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma and Kaposi Sarcoma.

Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd: The stock ended 7.78% higher at Rs 95.55 on the BSE after the company posted a 58.5% year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated profit at Rs 72.1 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23 with revenue growing 16.7% to Rs 227.3 crore and EBIDTA rising 11.2% to Rs 121 crore against the year-ago quarter. However, the margin fell 265 bps to 53.23% during the quarter.

Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd: The stock ended 3.73% higher at Rs 767.40 on the BSE after the company posted a 70% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit at Rs 168.8 crore for the second quarter of the financial year 2022-23. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 21.4% to Rs 1,141.5 crore and EBITDA stood at Rs 274.9 crore increasing 51.9% against the year-ago quarter.
