Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan recently remembered late actor Rishi Kapoor throwing a “tantrum” while discussing the climax of ‘Delhi 6’, a film in which they both starred in 2009. Notably, the movie was shot with two undecided endings that the filmmakers were stuck on.

Speaking to Film Companion, Abhishek revealed that while one climax featured the death of Abhishek’s character, the other one showed his character returning to life after meeting his grandfather- played by Amitabh Bachchan- in heaven. According to Abhishek, Rishi was not okay with his character being dead.

“Originally Roshan (Abhishek’s character) was supposed to die. And Chintu uncle (Rishi Kapoor) threw a tantrum about the ending saying, ‘How can he die? You have to show hope’ and I just had a flight to catch,” the 45-year-old said.

Eventually, the film, which won IIFA and Filmfare awards and paved its way to the Venice Film Festival, ended with the climax Rishi suggested.

Abhishek also recalled Rishi’s performance in the film. “I realised there was no difference between Chintu uncle before the camera rolled and when it rolled after,” he said.

‘Delhi 6’ also starred actors Sonam Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman and Divya Dutta in lead roles.

Rishi died in April 2020 at the age of 67 after battling cancer for two years.
