Actor Vibha Chibber is on an emotional high after Indian Hockey team win at Tokyo Olympics

Actor Vibha Chibber, who is known for her memorable roles in successful television soaps like ‘Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai’, ‘Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein’ and ‘Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki’, also played a caring Krishnaji (Assistant coach) in the movie ‘Chak De! India’. The film is currently going viral on Internet as social media users celebrate the big win of the Indian Women’s hockey team at the Tokyo Olympics.

Chibber is equally excited.
“I can’t even express how happy I am. In fact, I was reading in the newspapers in the morning how Men’s team also had a big win in Olympics. I also used to be an athlete and was active as a Badminton player and then acting happened. I was always interested in sports,” she told Opoyi.

The actor said that ‘Chak De! India’ helped her understand the technicalities of hockey and now this big win has made her emotional.
“After doing the film, I understood the nuances of hockey and after it has become my favorite game. When the girls gave us the big moment, I felt like I was playing the game and I visualized how my girls from the film are running with the national flag,” she said.
She says that her emotional attachment to sports is way higher after doing the film.

“When Negi sir came to teach us hockey during the shooting of the film, we never felt like we were doing a film. It was an emotional journey for us and the same happened today. I am so happy and proud and I am crossing my fingers that we win the gold now,” she said.
‘Chak De! India’, directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Aditya Chopra, tells a fictional story about the Indian women’s national field hockey team, which was inspired by the team’s win at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and explores themes such as feminism and sexism.
The film stars Shahrukh Khan as Kabir Khan, former captain of the Indian men’s national field-hockey team.
