Actress Angelica Ross has accused her former American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts of allegedly discriminating against her on sets by being transphobic.

In an Instagram Live video, she told the viewers that Roberts once complained that Ross was being mean to someone named John on the sets. “And John is like, ‘OK ladies, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.’ And she then looks at me and goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady?’” Ross said. “I am looking at her dead a** in the camera and I am like “What the f**k did you just say?”

Ross added that as she stood there trying to process what Roberts said, her blood was boiling. She added that at the time she did not mention anything about this incident because she was afraid everyone would think she was the problem.

“So we had scenes together and I never spoke to her. She could feel the energy coming off of me. She’d be like ‘Are you okay?’ and I’d be like, ‘Hmm.’ B*** don’t blame me. You’ve been playing mind games with everybody on the set,” Ross said.

Angelica Ross joined the cast of American Horror Story in the ninth season. She portrayed the character of Donna Chambers, a psychiatric researcher with a fascination for serial killers and posing as “Nurse Rita” at Camp Redwood. In February, Ryan Murphy confirmed her return to the following installment, Double Feature. Ross starred in both parts of the season. The first one was titled “Red Tide” where she played The Chemist, in Provincetown. In the second part, titled “Death Valley” Ross portrayed Theta, a telekinetically gifted hybrid of human and extraterrestrial.

Ross revealed that she was on a ‘first position’ seven-year contract with FX. This meant that as a series regular she could not work elsewhere without the network’s approval. Filming Season 10 of AHS, she was told she would return for Season 11 but this did not happen. Meanwhile, she had to turn down a proposal from Marvel because FX stalled in releasing her.

Ross’ series regular role in 1984 made her the first transgender actor in history to secure two series regular roles.
