Huma shared the details about her partnership in her latest social media post, “I’ve joined hands with @savethechildren_india to help Delhi fight the pandemic … to build a temporary hospital facility in Delhi that will have a100 beds along with an oxygen plant.”

Director Zack Snyder also shared the fundraiser link on Twitter and wrote, “I’ve joined hands with Save The Children to help Delhi fight the pandemic … Please support #BreathofLife @humasqureshi international donors.”

This came as India is witnessing a major COVID crisis, induced due to a second wave. It has led to shortages of medical oxygen, medicines, beds and has brought the healthcare facilities to a breaking point.

The country has been recording more than 300,000 COVID-19 cases for almost 20 days. On Tuesday, it logged record 4,205 COVID deaths, pushing the death toll to beyond 250,000.

Meanwhile, the early reactions to the filmmaker’s latest directorial ‘Army of the Dead’ are in, and they seem very favorable. The film features a number of pivotal actors, including Dave Bautista, Huma Qureshi, Tig Notaro, Ella Purnell, and Omari Hardwick. The movie will release on streaming giant Netflix on May 21.

In a recent Zoom interview, Snyder said he likes to tell his stories using mythology as a tool, something that is evident in his filmography, which also includes the 2009 film “Watchmen”.

“I do have an interest in this kind of mythological sort of storytelling. It’s just the thing that has creatively always inspired and sort of struck me,” Snyder told PTI in a group interview over Zoom from Los Angeles.

The 55-year-old director said his movies present the story of humanity, “rather than the reality of humanity”.

In “Army of the Dead”, Snyder blends two genres — zombie and heist — to once again make a commentary on people.

The director said the film will appeal to people across age groups and they can have different takeaways from it. Snyder said the ones who like reading between the lines might find the movie “political”.

The movie marks Snyder’s return to the genre after he made his directorial debut in 2004 with “Dawn of the Dead”, which was a remake of George A Romero’s 1978 classic of the same name.
