Filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ received critical praise on Saturday as US theatres begin to reopen with stringent safety measures for audience for their safety during the pandemic.

‘Tenet’, starring Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and John David Washington, is the first big-budget film releasing since the onset of the pandemic globally. Cinema halls in the US had shut down back in March, and since then, there was nothing as a ‘theatrical release’ of a film.

Concerned authorities will ‘closely watch’ the ticket sales of the film from AT&T Inc’s Warner Bros, when it releases in the movie halls for general public, reported news agency Reuters. This will be done to keep a tally of the number of people willing to leave their homes to watch a movie, the report added.

The final trailer, a three-minute-long one, of the movie released on Saturday and received a warm response globally.

‘Tenet’ will release in 70 countries globally from August 26, and will hit the US cinema halls on September 3. The film got an 87% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes, a review aggregator website.

The film revolves around the character of John David Washington, an intelligence operative recruited to help the ‘Tenet’ oganisation which aims to storm an apocalyptic event.
