Lenna has swapped her high heels for combat boots and joined the Ukrainian army amid ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Anastasiia, 24, has stepped outside to protect her
motherland from Russian invasion and have reportedly joined the Ukrainian army
to safeguard her nation. Lenna said she had answered the call to defend her
home, according to her social media account.
Lenna, who represented Ukraine in the Miss Grand
International beauty contest in 2015, has been sharing a series of pictures of
herself where she can be seen carrying airsoft guns and in full military
uniform in wooden areas for sport.
“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the
intent to invade will be killed!” she wrote in an Instagram post shared on
Saturday. She also posted a photo showing soldiers walking with Ukrainian
President Volodymyr Zelensky and called him a “true and strong leader.”
In another post, she joked that “Our (Ukraine’s) army is
fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine.”

Since the launch of the invasion on Wednesday, the model
has continuously called for support and donations to the Ukrainian armed
forces.
Lenna graduated from Slavistik University in Kyiv,
Ukraine, with a degree in marketing and management. She has worked as a model
and PR manager in Turkey – Bodrum, Ankara and Istanbul. She knows five
languages and has worked as a translator also.

Earlier, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Kira Rudrik
shared a photo of herself holding a gun. “I learn to use Kalashnikov and
prepare to bear arms. It sounds surreal, as just a few days ago it would never
come to my mind. Our #women will protect our soil the same way as our
#men,” she wrote on Twitter.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is said to
be taking part in the war side-by-side along with the Ukrainian soldiers. These
are just a few examples of civilians picking up weapons and defending their
country against Russian invasion.
