The rich resist-dyeing technique that is native to Gujarat, Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh, continues to be relevant in current times too. Bollywood celebrities are also in love with bandhani and are often seen flaunting their own version.

Alia Bhatt is one of the fans of bandhani and is often seen experimenting with this craft on several occasions. She wore a pink and olive custom bandhani sari by Tarun Tahiliani during the promotional rounds of ‘Kalank’ in April 2019. She again flaunted the trend while attending a friend’s Roka ceremony in December.
