Honoured: Actor Vijay Sethupathi to star in Muthiah Muralidaran biopic
- The actor will play the role of former Sri Lankan bowler in the biopic
- The project will go on floors in February 2021
- Vijay Sethupathi will also be seen in Aamir Khan starrer “Laal Singh Chaddha”, an Indian adaptation of the Hollywood film “Forrest Gump”
Actor Vijay Sethupathi, known as one of the most bankable stars of the Tamil film industry, will play the title role in “800”, a biopic made on Sri Lankan spin legend Muthiah Muralidaran. The project will go on the floors in February, Next year.
Sethupathi, whose first breakthrough came with the national award-winning drama “Thenmerku Paruvakatru”, shared the new poster from the film on his Instagram account.
“Honoured to be a part of this landmark project. Update soon,” he wrote.
According to the reports, the film will be made in Tamil and will be released in multiple languages.
“I am happy to be associated with the Muthiah Muralitharan biopic; he is an iconic sportsman of Tamil origin and someone who’s made his mark across the world. Portraying the role of Murali is going to be a challenge for me & I’m looking forward to it,” the actor, who was recently seen Tamil film “Ka Pae Ranasingam”, said in a statement.
