‘I felt lonely, sad, isolated’: Priyanka Chopra on dealing with a break-up in 2016

Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas had a hard time when she moved to New York in 2016 to shoot for ‘Quantico’, a television show, as she was dealing with a break-up as well as reeling from the death of her father in 2013. The 38-year-old talked about dealing with the low phase of her life in her memoir ‘Unfinished’, where she said how she had stopped going out completely, except for the shoot. Priyanka, in her book, said that during that period she had gained almost 9 kgs (20 pounds) and how she was also not able to sleep at night.

The actor wrote, “When I wasn’t feeling numb, I felt lonely, sad, and isolated. No one understood what was going on inside me, because I didn’t tell anyone.” Going through a breakup and grief of the loss of her father Dr Ashok Chopra, Priyanka did not even confide in her mother Dr Madhu Chopra.
Priyanka’s memoir ‘Unfinished’ released this Tuesday in which she had talked about her childhood chronicles, from facing racism in the US during her teenage years to winning Miss India and Miss World and her journey to Bollywood and Hollywood.

The 38-year-old has talked about the time when a director had asked her to ‘fix her proportions’ if she wanted to become an actor suggesting her get a ‘boob job’, fix her jaw and add a ‘little more cushioning’ to her butt. In the memoir, Priyanka has also revealed how her nose surgery in 2001 had gone wrong, which changed the shape of her nose.
The actor is currently in London shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Text For You’. She was recently seen in ‘The White Tiger’ and ‘We Can Be Heroes’, both of them released on Netflix.
