- An old video resurfaced where Shane can be seen making inappropriate comments on Willow
- Both Jada and Jaden tweeted their views regarding the video
- Shane has been accused of using blackface and making jokes on pedophilia on multiple occasions
Jaden Smith and mother Jada Pinkett Smith have taken to social media and slammed YouTuber Shane Dawson after a video of him making sexual comments on a then underage Willow Smith resurfaced. In the video, the 31-year-old YouTuber who has often been criticized for his online sketches, can be seen pretending to pleasure himself while looking at Willow’s poster and saying, “Oh, whip your hair back and forth.”
In her tweet, Jada Smith said she is done with all the excuses. Willow’s brother Jaden also took to twitter and put up an enraged tweet. He said, “YOU SEXUALIZING AN 11 YEAR OLD GIRL WHO HAPPENS TO BE MY SISTER!!!!!! IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM FUNNY AND NOT OKAY IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT.”
In another tweet, he called out Shane on his use of blackface. “This Man Was Also Doing Black Face On The Regular,” he said. “As The Youth We Need To Support Creators Who Support Us And Our Morals. This Is Not Okay,” said Jaden.
In a video previously uploaded by Shane, he had apologized for using blackface in many of his sketches. He said, “Blackface was something that I did a lot. Like, I did it a lot on my channel and there’s no excuse for it, there’s literally no excuse.” He further added, “I made a video six years ago talking about it and I gave excuses. I knew it was wrong, I knew I never wanted to do it again, but I didn’t do the work. I didn’t actually look into the history of it and why it’s so wrong, and why people were so upset.”
Shane has been called out multiple times for his jokes about pedophilia. Explaining his actions in the video, he said, “That is disgusting, that is gross, it is not something I would ever do. It is something I did for shock value or because I thought it was funny or, like ‘Oh my god, my child molester character,’ or whatever. It’s all gross, and I promise that is not real, that is not me.”
