KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty have been long been a rumoured couple, but the Indian cricketer just made their relationship official on Instagram after he wished the Bollywood actor on her birthday with two adorable pictures.
Shetty turned 29 on November 5 and Rahul took to Instagram to wish his ladylove. He captioned the pictures: “Happy birthday my (red heart emoji) @athiyashetty.”
While in the first picture, the couple can be seen smiling with Rahul’s around Athiya, in the second picture the two stars are sporting a goofy look with their tongues sticking out. Athiya, who is the daughter of actor Sunil Shetty, responded to the post with a white heart and a globe emoticon.
The couple had stayed tight-lipped about their rumoured romance, but photos from their recent trip to London have left admirers speechless. Rahul put Shetty as his partner in the documentation he presented to the BCCI during the international cricket match and also communicated this to them, according to a Times of India report.
In today’s T20 World Cup game, Athiya was spotted in the stand along with Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh. They were joined by others, as well, who cheered for the Indian squad.
Several pictures of Athiya cheering for the team emerged on social media. The fans said that the win was KL Rahul’s birthday gift for Athiya Shetty.
On the work front, Shetty was last seen in ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie received mixed reviews from the audience and she is yet to announce her next project. She debuted in the 2015 film “Hero” for which she received a Filmfare award nomination for the Best Female Debut.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been busy opening the batting for the Men in Blues at the ongoing T20 World Cup. Although India started out with two disappointing defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand, they have somewhat bounced back with two straight victories against Afghanistan and Scotland. KL Rahul scored a half-century on both occasions.
