Len Goodman, a former professional ballroom dancer and ex-judge of Dancing With The Stars, died at hospice care on Saturday surrounded by his family in Tunbridge Wells, Kent at the age of 78.

Len Goodman passed away on April 22, 2023, from bone cancer. Jackie Gill, Goodman’s agent said in a statement: “It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78. A much-loved husband, father, and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.”

He once described her as the ex-wife of “a bloke called Wilf Pine who had managed the band Black Sabbath.” He shares a son, James William Goodman, who was born on 26 January 1981, with her.

On 30 December 2012 Goodman married Sue Barrett, a 47-year-old dance teacher, he has been dating a for a decade by then. They tied the knot in a small ceremony at Mosimann’s, a London dining club.

Goodman started dancing at the age of 19. By his twenties, he was competing in various competitions across the nation and winning many of them. The dancer won the British Exhibition Championships four times along with his partner, Cherry. Goodman retired from the entertainment industry in the early 1970s.

His claim to fame came in 2004 when he became a household name as the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, swiftly becoming one of the biggest stars on TV. He would also become the head judge on Dancing With The Stars in the US, at the same time as he was doing the BBC show.

In 2016, he left Strictly Come Dancing but in 2016, continued to do DWTS.
