On the television program ‘Saans’, Neena and Kanwaljit starred opposite each other as a married couple.

Neena was asked to react to the fan’s observation during an interview with Bollywood Hungama. The fan had written, “Don’t tell me Kanwaljit Singh is Neena Gupta’s son in the movie? They were co-stars in the 90s. SMH.”

Neena responded with a laugh, “Bhaiya yehi toh acting ka maza hai. Kal jo aapka lover tha woh aapka beta hai, yehi toh maza hai (Someone could play both your lover and your son, which is the beauty of acting. It’s exciting).”

‘Saans’ revolved around couple Priya Kapoor (Neena Gupta) and Gautam Kapoor (Kanwaljit Singh) and their two teenage children, Akul and Mithi, and an extra-marital affair that could shaken everything.

Kanwaljit had said about the show in a 2017 interview with Hindustan Times, “I had always portrayed myself as a trustworthy, positive individual that people expected from me. But I was also interested in trying out a new role. Despite this, I made sure Gautam wasn’t portrayed as a villain, but rather as a complex grey character who cared for his children and felt responsible for Priya.”
