Shamshera
The motion poster of ‘Shamshera’ released back in 2018. The tagline of the film reads, “Karam se dacait, dharam se azaad”. Co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Ashutosh Rana and Aahana Kumra in key roles, the film is set in 1800s. In an interview with PTI, Ranbir said, “It is a departure from the kind of films I have done, it is not the coming-of-age lover boy roles which I have done often. Shamshera is in the aspirational space, the space of true, badass commercial cinema. The actor plays the role of a dacoit in the movie.
Brahmastra
Ranbir Kapoor’s first film with his beau Alia Bhatt, ‘Brahmastra’ is set to release in 2021. The Ayan Mukerji directorial is the first part of a sci-fi trilogy set to be released in multiple languages. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna and Dimple Kapadia in major roles.
