The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the 2021 Oscars will not be held virtually, reported Variety. It is regarded as the most famous and prestigious awards in the entertainment industry.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the awards show was postponed and moved to April 25, 2021. The eligibility period for the Oscars has been extended to February 28, 2021 and nominations will be announced on March 15, 2021.

The details for the live show, including safety protocols, how many guests will be allowed inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where the show is typically held, are yet to be finalised.

“The academy has done a walkthrough of the Dolby recently to see all the multiple options,” the rep told Variety of the 3,400-seat venue.
