English comedian Peter Kay will be returning to stand-up comedy when he embarks on his first live tour in more than a decade in December. The 49-year-old has been leading a private life in the last few years but will take centre stage in his nine-month-long area tour which will be taking place between December 2022 and August 2023.
The last time Kay went on a live tour was 12 years ago in 2010. It was at this tour that he registered a Guinness World Record for the biggest selling run in history as ticket sales rose to more than 1.2 million.

The 49-year-old’s forthcoming live tour was announced on ITV recently, during a break in the launch of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”
“It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy, and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now,” Kay quipped.
“And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35 – the same price they were on my previous tour in 2010,” he added.
The first stand-up comedy show of Kay in his upcoming tour will take place on December 2 in Manchester. He will continue in Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow and Dublin after that. His tour will come to an end on August 11, 2023, when he hosts a show in Sheffield.

After the announcement was made, Peter Kay’s website crashed for some time for huge online traffic. However, it went back to normal later. A poster for the comedian’s upcoming tour displayed Peter Kay’s photo holding a sign that read “Better late than never.” It also termed the tickets to the 49-year-old’s tour as an ideal Christmas gift.
In recent years, Peter Kay has made appearances in his Car Share television show, which has gone on to win BAFTA Film Awards.
