The musician informed his followers on social media on Saturday night that he was experiencing “stabbing pain” in the hospital and would not be able to perform at Boston’s TD Garden as planned.

“Boston, I love y’all so fucking much,” Post wrote. “On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o’clock p.m., and today I woke up to cracking sounds on the right side of my body. I felt so good last night, but today it feels so different than it has before. I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move. We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight.”
The development happened exactly one week after he walked through an open trap door while performing at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. After several minutes of medical attention, he addressed the audience and requested a brief break before the concert continued.

After roughly 15 minutes, he returned to the stage, holding up his ribs and expressing regret to the audience before performing a few more songs as a hurried conclusion to the performance. After posting the message, “Everything’s good, they gave me some pain meds and everything,” he continued the tour the following night in Columbus. “We can keep kicking ass on the tour.”

Before the performer’s more detailed announcement, TG Garden had only stated that the event was “being postponed due to unforeseen circumstances” and urged spectators to hang onto their tickets for a future date.
Post concluded, “I’m so fucking sorry,” in his Saturday night message to Boston fans. “Everyone’s tickets for tonight’s show will be valid for the reschedule that we’re planning right now. Once again, I’m so fucking sorry. I love y’all so much. I feel terrible, but I promise I’m going to make this up to you. I love you Boston, I’ll see you soon. I’m so sorry. Love, Austy.”
