Priyanka Chopra drops Jonas from Instagram bio, actors mother reacts
- The change in bio hinted at a possible rift between the couple
- "It’s all rubbish, don’t spread rumours", said Priyanka's mother
- The couple celebrated their first Diwali in their first home earlier this month
Priyanka Chopra on Monday dropped her husband Nick Jonas’ last name from her Instagram handle, giving rise to speculations of a rift between the couple. The actor’s Instagram earlier mentioned her name as ‘Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ but now reflects just her first name.
The actor’s mother, Madhu Chopra, was quick to quash the speculations of trouble in Priyanka’s and Nick’s marriage.
“It’s all rubbish, don’t spread rumours,” she told News18.
The couple tied the knot in extravagant ceremonies in India in December 2018.
Earlier this month, the two celebrated their first Diwali in their first home together.

Sharing the pictures of the celebrations on her Instagram handle, Priyanka had written, “Our first Diwali in our first home together. This one will always be special. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening so special. You’re my angels. To everyone who honoured our home and my culture by not only dressing the part but dancing the night away, you made me feel like I was back home. And to the best husband and partner @nickjonas, you are what dreams are made of. I love you. My heart is so grateful and full. Happy Diwali.“
Meanwhile, in an interview with Vogue Arabia earlier this month, the ‘Don 2’ actor had called her engagement ring the ‘most beautiful piece of jewelry’ that has even been gifted to her.
“If I don’t say my engagement ring my husband (Nick Jonas) will kill me. Kidding! I have to say it was my engagement ring, because it was unexpected and I’m very sentimental about the jewelry that I wear, it’s always associated with memories for me so I’d definitely say that,” Priyanka told the outlet.
