Saturday Night Live, this week, mocked Texas senator Ted Cruz for picking up a fight with Sesame Street’s Big Bird – a six-year-old Muppet character promoting COVID-19 vaccination. The Republican was played by actor and comedian Aidy Bryant.

The CBS show’s latest episode saw Bryant’s Cruz take children down to “Cruz Street”. The character started off by introducing himself. “Hello, I’m Texas senator and last one invited to Thanksgiving, Ted Cruz. You know for fifty years I stood by as ‘Sesame Street’ taught our children dangerous ideas like numbers and kindness.”

For those who are unversed, Big Bird tweeted on November 6 that he got vaccinated and that he’s been getting vaccinations, like most American children, since he was a “little bird.” To this Cruz responded on Twitter, “Government propaganda…for your 5 year old!”

Bryant’s Cruz decided to decided to create his own street – “It’s a gated community where kids are protected from woke government,” because Big Bird and “Sesame Street” have been teaching children “dangerous ideas like numbers and kindness.”

Bryant’s Cruz brought along Marjorie Taylor Greene, played by Cecily Strong, who brandished an AR-15 and said that today’s episode featured the letter Q.

“Not the letter, the man. Even Big Bird came out, not feeling great after his vaccine shot. My feathers fell out … and my joints don’t work.”

The fictional Ted Cruz then asked the Big Bird to “take a bath in Borax” but then Pete Davidson’s Rogan came out to bring his own medical advice.

“I used to host ‘Fear Factor’ and now doctors fear me,” he said, telling Big Bird to take zinc and horse medicine.

“Why would a bird take horse medicine?” Big Bird asked.

Rogan responded, “I’m a human and I took horse medicine.”
