Screen time not a big deal: Actor Sara Ali Khan on comedy roles

Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan is back with her another comedy film ‘Coolie
No 1’ alongside Varun Dhawan. The film’s trailer was out on Saturday and is directed
by renowned director David Dhawan.

In an interview with PTI, when asked about her screen
time, she says, “Screen time is not a big deal for her. What matters for her
the most is good script”.  Khan said, “She is not here in the industry to compete or compare
with other actors”.

“When you are working alongside Varun or Ranveer who are
undoubtedly great actors and amazing directors like David and Rohit sir, you
are in no position to compare. You are only grateful to work with in such a
healthy and entertaining environment”, she added.

The 25-year- old actor has previously worked with Rohit Shetty in a the comedy movie, ‘Simmba’ alongside Ranveer Singh, and ‘Coolie No 1’ will be her second comic role.

When asked about her experience till now, the Love Aaj Kal actor said,
after working with two great directors in a light comedies, she realized the
space of women in this genre. She also named few female actors who shared space
in comedy genres during 90s. Hema Malini in ‘Seeta aur Geeta’, Sridevi in ‘Mr.
India”, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon in Andaz Apna Apna has incredibly
performed their comedy roles.

Coolie No 1 is the adaptation of the movie with same
name of 1995 and is going to release on December 25 on Amazon Prime. She is
hoping her movie will give a good time to audiences on the eve of Christmas.

Khan is the daughter of Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh,
who debuted with the movie, ‘Kedarnath’ alongside Sushant Singh Rajput under
the directorial of Abhishek Kapoor in 2018.
