OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on Monday released first teaser of their upcoming drama, ‘Sherni’, starring Vidya Balan in the lead. The film has been directed by Amit Masurkar of ‘Newton’ fame. As fans are waiting to see Vidya%u2019s performance after almost a year, the teaser has left the audiences excited for the trailer, which will release on June 2.

‘Sherni’ will be Vidya’s second film after Shakuntala Devi to release on the OTT platform. Vidya shared the teaser of Sherni on social media and wrote, “A tigress always knows the way! Ready to hear the #Sherni roar? Here%u2019s the Official Teaser. Trailer out, June 2.” Meet #SherniOnPrime, June 2021. @primevideoin.

In the teaser, Vidya is seen as a forest officer flanked by policemen as they walk through a forest area. A close-up shows her looking earnestly at the forest as if searching for something important. “Jungle kitna bhi ghana kyu na ho, sherni apna rasta dhund hi leti hai (No matter how dense the forest maybe, the lioness finds her way),” Vidya is heard saying in the teaser.

The movie has been produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. The cast includes Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi.
