Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister shocked as Bihar IPS overseeing case is quarantined

Late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti has condemned the Brihanmimbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for “forcibly” quarantining Vinay Tiwari, the top cop probing Sushant’s case. The Patna (Central) Superintendent of Police (SP) was sent to Mumbai, from Bihar on Sunday to lead the probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. 

Shweta shared the post on Facebook where Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey announced the news of Tiwari being allegly quarantined. “Disgraceful,” she wrote while sharing the news.

In a separate post, she said, “What? Is this even for real? How can an officer sent on duty be quarantined for 14 Days? #JusticeForSushant.”

The Bihar DGP in his Facebook post said that Tiwari was being ‘forcibly quarantined’, writing, “IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai today from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 pm today. He was not provided accommodation in the IPS Mess despite request and was staying in a guest house in Goregaon.”

However, the BMC clarified regarding this. “Patna Superintendent of Police Binay Tiwari has been quarantined as per the present guidelines for domestic arrivals at Mumbai Airport,” news agency ANI reported quoting the BMC.

Tiwari reached Mumbai to lead the ongoing probe by Bihar Police into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death following his father’s FIR against the actor’s girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty and a few others. He alleged that Rhea had abetted to Sushant’s suicide, wrongfully used his money, and filed the complaint under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14 in his Bandra residence at the age of 34. The Mumbai Police is still investigating the case and have questioned several people until now. The Bihar Police started a separate probe last week.
