Golf legend Tiger Woods was seen hitting balls across a green course on Sunday in a social media post that said he was “making progress” after a car crash earlier this year. This is the first time the 45-year-old was seen swinging the club since February, as per reports.

The three-second-long snippet of the Tiger Woods in golf gear is being considered as the first official update shared by sportsperson since April 2021. According to reports from ESPN, he is seen wearing a compression sock, a piece of equipment designed to regulate blood flow.

The 15-time major winner was part of a Los Angeles car crash in February this year, which resulted in severe injuries in both his legs. Woods underwent a series of medical procedures, including surgery on open fractures in his right leg after the single-vehicle crash.

According to reports from the Irish Examiner, the 45-year-old Golf champion was hospitalised for weeks before being discharged. Investigations carried out by the United States law enforcement officials suggest that Woods’ car was twice over the speed limit.

Justin Thomas, a fellow golfer and former Ryder Cup team-mate, has often visited Woods at his Florida residence, where he has been in extensive rehabilitation. He was recorded saying that Woods was determined to return to competitive action.

“Obviously I hope he does,” Thomas said at the ‘No Laying Up’ podcast earlier this month. He added, “But at the same time, as I said after the accident, as long as he can be a dad and be normal with that again, that’s the number one priority, and the rest of this is a bonus.”

Tiger Woods described his rehabilitation from injuries sustained in a February car crash as the most “painful” experience of his career and declined to comment on his possible return to the sport, according to reports from AFP citing Golf Digest.
