Tom Cruise talks about the ‘most dangerous’ stunt in ‘Mission Impossible’

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, while talking about a particular stunt in his upcoming film ‘Mission Impossible 7‘, said he wanted to do this since he was a little kid. The American action spy film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie is set to release in 2022.
Tom Cruise, 59, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, is known to perform his own stunts. In doing so, he has suffered numerous accidents in the past. He broke his ankle during one hair-raising leap for the previous installment of the Mission Impossible series.

On Thursday, at the annual convention of theater bosses, a footage from Mission Impossible of Cruise riding a motorbike off a treacherous cliff was shown. Paramount used its slot on the final day of CinemaCon trade show in Las Vegas to present clips from its upcoming features ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. Tom Cruise stars in both the films.
This is far and away the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted,” said Tom Cruise, introducing the stunt via video.

“We’ve been working on this for years. We’re going to shoot it in Norway and it will be a motorcycle jump off a cliff into a base jump. I’ve wanted to do this since I was a little kid,” he added.
This was not it. A behind-the-scenes footage showed the actor performing more than 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps before traveling to an elaborate ramp constructed on a remote Norwegian cliff to shoot the stunt itself to prepare for the stunt.
“I think I can hold onto the bike a little longer, “Cruise could be heard saying after he successfully opened his parachute and landed safely.

The producers presented the first 13 minutes of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, which is sequel of to 1986 smash hit ‘Top Gun’. Cruise’s Maverick is seen testing out a futuristic and experimental supersonic jet in defiance of his US Navy admiral, who wants to shut down the secretive program and replace it with unmanned drones. A new trailer for the film showed Cruise teaching a new generation of fighter pilots.
