Tom Cruise to resume filming Mission: Impossible 7 in the UK despite surge in COVID-19 cases

Hollywood star Tom Cruise is set to resume shooting of ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ in the UK amidst the country braving an increase number of COVID-19 cases. The actor, who is back after a Christmas break, will join the production of the film that has now been shifted from Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden to Longcross Film Studio, reports Variety.com.
Longcross that used to be a UK Ministry of Defence site used to test army tanks, has been redeveloped as studios. Some portions of films like ‘Skyfall’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ were previously shot here.
The country is once again braving a devastating wave of coronavirus, with large swathes of the country moved up to Tier 4 and Longcross, which is in Surrey in Southeast England, falls within Tier 4 (the highest level of restrictions).
The film is expected to complete principal photography at Longcross.
Cruise was recently in news for expressing his anger on some
of the crew members for not following COVID-19 guidelines and maintaining
social distancing.
“Mission: Impossible
7” was delayed in October when 12 people on set in Italy tested positive for
COVID-19. Directed by Christopher
McQuarrie, the film is scheduled to release in November 2021.
