A Twilight Saga TV series is in early development, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed citing sources. Stephanie Meyers, who wrote the original books by the same name, will reportedly produce the series.
Meyers’ books were adapted into films, the first of which released in 2008. Five movies were released till 2012. They starred Bella Swan played by Kristen Stewart, vampire Edward Cullen by Robert Pattinson, and werewolf Jacob Black by Taylor Lautner in key roles.
Variety confirmed that the TV series adaptation is in early development at Lionsgate TV. The report added that Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig will be amongst the producers. Meyers is also expected to be involved.
However, Lionsgate has not confirmed the TV series.
The original Twilight novels are: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. They were published between 2005 and 2008. Meyers released the book Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined in 2015 and Midnight Sun in 2020. The two were spinoffs.
The five films based on the novels grossed over $3 billion at the global box office.

When will the Twilight TV series come out?
The release date of the Twilight TV series has not been announced yet. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the show does not have a confirmed platform or a screenwriter. However, Lionsgate Television has rights to the franchise.
Who will be cast in the series?
The series is reportedly in pre-production hence cast members have not been announced.
The original cast members spoke about potentially reprising their roles. Peter Facinelli, who played Carlisle Cullen, told People: “I love that character. [He’s] so much fun to play, and that world is fun.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they have a plan to turn the Harry Potter books into a TV series.
