Fans were left bewildered while watching Elton John’s farewell concert at the Dodger Stadium, Sunday night when the words “Donald Trump” popped up in closed captions during his performance.
The 75-year-old marked the closing of his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour Sunday, which was his final American concert tour. Many fans took to Twitter with snapshots of the moment when the name of the former president was on their television screens, even though the singer never called out his name. The concert was aired on DisneyPlus.

“The caption on this Elton John concert said, ‘Donald Trump’ for like a full minute,” one shocked fan noted, while another stated, “Whoa… @eltonofficial didn’t just say Donald Trump during the Levon song. How did that get in there @DisneyPlus ???” One more tweeted, “@Disney why did the words Donald Trump randomly appear in the captions for @eltonofficial’s concert?? #EltonJohn#EltonFarewellTour#DonaldTrump”
Another noted, “Did anyone else see #DonaldTrump on the CC for @eltonofficial@DisneyPlus#EltonJohnFarewellTour#DisneyPlus.” One more said, “So the caption person can’t keep up w the music for the Elton John concert but they can shout out Donald trump.” Yet another stated, “Disney will be firing someone. This was the Rocket Man singer’s third night at Dodger Stadium was nostalgic especially since the venue served as the famous setting for his 1975 breakout stadium concerts. No music lover can forget John’s electrifying concerts 47 years ago at the historic baseball stadium, which cemented his status as an all-time great music legend.
